Tyson was raised by a Title 1 Elementary School Principal and Title 1 Elementary School Cook.  Tyson grew up with a passion for sports and entertainment and pursued a degree in Hospitality Management at Missouri State University. After college, he became the GM of Ovations Food Services at Missouri State University where he oversaw 2 arenas, a football stadium and a performing arts hall. After 4 years in this field Tyson felt he could be more impactful by helping others who were in need. In December of 2017 Tyson married his wife Libby and they moved from South West Missouri to the Denver area. Tyson become the Operations Manager of the Golden Backpack Program in May and the Executive Director in June of 2018.  Tyson found the impactful position he was looking for, and it was with the Golden Backpack Program.

We are doing more than helping fill children's tummies, we are helping prevent education, behavior and physical growth issues. We are helping to build the foundational growth for these kiddos.
